Puddin' Head Coffee

History of Coffee

Many centuries ago Kaldi, an Arabian goatherder, noticed his goats acting very euphoric after eating red cherry-like fruit from bushes on a hillside in southern Arabia. He found eating the fruit was very stimulating. As the legend goes a local monestary began using the cherries to help monks stay awake during prayer. This practice was shared with other monasteries in the region helping to popularize coffee. Evidence suggests arabica coffee originated in Ethiopia, then cultivated in Yemen, with the first coffee houses established in Cairo and Mecca.
