United Students for Fair Trade: USFT is a national network of student organizations advocating around Fair-Trade products, policies, and principles. The core objective of USFT is to raise the awareness of and expand the demand for Fair-Trade alternatives, both on campuses and in communities. TransFair USA: a nonprofit organization, is one of nineteen members of Fairtrade Labelling Organizations International (FLO), and the only third-party certifier of Fair-Trade products in the United States. Utz Kapeh: Utz Kapeh ("good coffee" in a Maya language) is a worldwide certification program that sets the standard for responsible coffee production and sourcing.

Rainforest Alliance: "The mission of the Rainforest Alliance is to protect ecosystems and the people and wildlife that depend on them by transforming land-use practices, business practices and consumer behavior. Companies, cooperatives and landowners that participate in our programs meet rigorous standards that conserve biodiversity and provide sustainable livelihoods." This is the stated mission from their web site. Smithsonian Migratory Bird Center: "Shade grown coffee plantations play a key role in the conservation of migratory birds that have found a sanctuary in their forest-like environment. The Smithsonian Migratory Bird Center encourages the production of shade grown coffee, and the conservation of migratory birds, through its "Bird Friendly®" coffee program."
